High West
Distillery

High West Distillery came to us with a challenge: how does a Utah whiskey brand compete with the deep-rooted heritage of Kentucky bourbon? The answer was hidden in the local history of Park City.

During a brand immersion at the distillery, we discovered the legend of the Ski Trains. Decades ago, while Utah’s strict drinking laws kept the state “dry,” these federally regulated trains became a loophole on tracks. Because they operated under federal jurisdiction, the local laws didn’t apply—making the train the only place travelers could freely enjoy a drink on their way to the mountains.

Inspired by this rebellious spirit, we designed a custom-built mobile caboose as a modern homage to that history.

More than just a trailer, this traveling bar was engineered to bring the High West story to consumers nationwide. We designed one side of the caboose to pivot open entirely, revealing a premium white oak bar and a fold-out deck that transforms any location into a Park City lounge. It’s a piece of history, redesigned for the road.
